Two-Headed Snake Amazes Zoo Visitors in Ukraine

A two-headed snake has become a popular attraction at a Ukrainian zoo.The three-year old, two-foot-long animal's two heads are each able to think and eat separately, and have even been seen to steal food from each other.

The small albino California Kingsnake is currently on display at the Black Sea resort town of Yalta. The private zoo the animal is being kept at is called Skazka, or Fairy Tale.

Zoo workers told AFP that the snake's two heads are deeply independent, often disagree and will steal food from each other.

"Sometimes one head wants to crawl in one direction and the other head in another direction," zoo director Oleg Zubkov told AFP.

Zoo worker Ruslan Yakovenko added that he tries to feed the snake's two heads separately to avoid conflicts over food.

"If it is really hungry, its heads may steal food from each other," he said, saying that he is forced to separate the heads with a barrier.

"The second head may get angry, but both then feel satiation because they only have one stomach," he continued.

The zoo noted that kingsnakes hunt other reptiles, meaning that one of the snake's head could instinctively try to attack and eat the other one.

Visitor numbers have nearly doubled since the snake went on display earlier in July. "Many enter the zoo feeling horrified and leave delighted," Yakovenko said.

The snake is believed to be Europe's only two-headed specimen. On loan from Germany, it will be on display in the Ukraine until September.

Candy Spelling sells mansion

Candy Spelling has officially, and finally, sold her beloved Candyland mansion. The 56,500 square-foot, Holmby Hills home includes 27 baths -- not including the one that Spelling took on the sale.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Spelling, the widow of TV producer Aaron Spelling and mother of actress/authoress Tori Spelling, has sold the 4.7-acre estate to 22-year-old, British racing Formula 1 racing heiress Petra Ecclestone, after it sat on the market for a little over two years.

And it appears that Spelling is among the victims of the current depressed housing market; while Candy had been asking $150 million for the home, which was built in 1991, Ecclestone picked it up for a mere $85 million cash -- just over half of what Spelling had been seeking.

Still a princely sum, but Ecclestone -- who's marrying entrepreneur James Stunt next month and plans to use Candyland as a part-time residence -- is getting a lot for her (or rather, her father's) money: The mansion has an estimated 123 rooms, including 14 bedrooms, several gift-wrapping rooms, and an on-site beauty salon. Oh, and there's also a bowling alley, a 17,000-square-foot attic, and a flower-cutting room.

The property includes parking for more than 100 vehicles, which Ecclestone -- the daughter of Formula 1 billionaire Bernie Ecclestone and former Armani model Slavica -- will presumably fill with race cars.
Spelling, meanwhile, will be moving into a more modest, 15,555 square-foot condo in Century City, which she picked up for $35 million -- less than the $47 million that she originally agreed to pay for it in 2008.

Miracle of the DaY - Gods Favor

"Wow I dont even know where to begin. Ill try to be brief. My wife has been on a career path towards becoming a full fledge English educator. At least 10 years ago she decided to go back to college to finish her B.A degree. She started with a class here and there, attending part-time, weekends as well. Before we relocated to GA from NY, she finally did complete her studies. Our prayer is that God would open a door for her to teach in the state of GA. To do that she needed to take a pass the Praxis exams, on which there are two of them. She passed the 1st one, and shortly after began "subing" in the school district. She was then hired as permanent sub, whereby she went to the same school, same classroom each day. The schools primary teacher went out on indefinite leave. Thanks be to God, my wife did such a good job that the principal interviewed her, offered her a FT teaching position, but my wife had the pass the Praxis II exam. Remember I said there were two exams. My wife took the II exam, and did not pass. By this time the principal has already sent in all her paperwork to HR, has my wife on her org chart, contracts are being sent to my wife from the state, but my wife was still lacking this one state certification. My wife took the exam a second time, and unfortunately missed it by 9 points. At this point she thought it was over - her career that is. We would need a MIRACLE from God to somehow allow this opportunity to go forth in spite of my wife still needing to clear one final hurdle. Soon after my wife had to make what was undoubtedly the hardest phone call ever. She needed to tell those who offered here the FT teaching position that she wouldnt be able to do it as she didnt score a passing grade. In comes the MIRACLE. Do you know that the principal, and the head of the HR division for educators all went to bat for my wife. It doesnt make sense, as we have no other relationship with these folks. All we can say is that God worked a Miracle and gave my wife Favor unlike anything weve even seen before. My wifes situation went beyond the final hour. It appeared that this deal was dead, but God ... She reports to work in August and is there newest English teacher. He is a miracle working God"
