Facebook IPO? Report Says Mark Zuckerberg’s Company Will Go Public in Early 2012

Is Facebook finally going public? CNBC reports that the social-networking giant is planning a $100 billion IPO in the first quarter of 2012.

Facebook is declining comment but the company's COO acknowledged recently that an IPO was "inevitable."

CNBC's IPO report comes on the heels of news that Facebook's growth may be slowing down. According to the research firm Inside Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg's company gained about 12 million users worldwide during May-well off its monthly average. And Facebook lost nearly 6 million users in the United States.

The company is expected to make around $2 billion this year and no doubt is encouraged by the highly successful recent IPO of the professional networking site LinkedIn.

McDonald's has been seriously punked.

A Twitter post this past weekend has put the Golden Arches on the defensive. A photograph, which turned out to be a hoax, published under the hashtag #seriouslymacdonalds showed a sign taped to the window of a McDonald's restaurant stating that the fast-food chain is now charging black people a $1.50 transaction fee “as an insurance measure due in part to a recent string of robberies.”
The sign listed an 800 number to call: the Customer Satisfaction Hotline for Kentucky Fried Chicken, one of McDonald's fast-food rivals.

McDonald’s called the picture a “senseless and ignorant hoax” and the hashtag has since been removed from Twitter

Coolest Google Doodle Ever?
Les Paul Birthday Inspires Playable Digital Guitar

It's the coolest Google doodle yet! If you're not keeping track: Google regularly updates its logo to mark holidays and honor those in need of honoring by turning the letters and design into a piece of art.

Alexander Chen of Google Labs says the latest doodle celebrates the father of the electric guitar, Les Paul, on what would have been his 96th birthday.

It not only lets you play guitar tunes by mousing over the virtual strings, it lets you make a 30-second recording of your strums. So you can get in touch with your inner Les Paul, who won two Grammys and built his first guitar at age 9.
