Jack White and model wife Karen Elson to divorce

NEW YORK – Jack White and Karen Elson's divorce party might rival their wedding.
The rocker and his model-singer wife announced Friday — on their sixth anniversary — that they're splitting. But they're not mourning the demise of their marriage; they're celebrating it with a party described as a "positive swing bang hum dinger."
The invitation asks close friends and family to "please help us celebrate this anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage with our best friends and animals."
They are the parents of two children, Scarlett and Henry Lee, and say they are still "dear and trusted friends."
This is the second split of the year for White. Earlier, he announced the White Stripes — comprised of White and ex-wife Meg White — were calling it quits.

Allegiance is described as “a new musical about love, loss and heroism in the backdrop of the Japanese American internment.”

On his way to opening, Takei brings fans his original web series “The Road to Broadway.” In his first episode, he explains that he is impatiently awaiting his Broadway bow and thinks that he should be considered for the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Elisabeth Hasselbeck can't get Sarah Palin to return her calls?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has long been the lone conservative voice on the morning chat show "The View," so one would think that of all people she could get her phone calls to Sarah Palin returned.

Apparently one reason the former "Survivor" contestant complained recently that Palin's bus tour was distracting the media from Mitt Romney's message is because Hasselbeck is miffed at Palin for giving her the cold shoulder.

"Elisabeth feels used by Sarah," an  unnamed friend of Hasselbeck's told Rob Shute of celebrity blog Pop Eater. "When she needed her, she was all over Elisabeth, and now she treats her like a stranger."

"It’s sad," the source said, adding that "Elisabeth has reached out to her several times but she never responds."

On a recent episode of "The View," Hasselbeck used a creative analogy to argue that the hockey mom's "One Nation" bus tour was eclipsing the media attention from Romney's plan to improve the economy.

"If I had termites in my house, I'd get someone in there who could deal with it,"  Hasselbeck said. "Mitt Romney, right now, his specialty is the economy. I'd have him in there. Here's why we're not hearing it: because Sarah Palin's on a bus and right now she's manipulating, in terms of media attention."

In 2008 Hasselbeck was on Palin's side, guaranteed that if the Alaskan made it to the White House as vice president to Sen. John McCain she would fight D.C. corruption.

"Did I mention that this woman, she's got a real knack for cleaning. She cleaned up house in Alaska. Yep," Hasselbeck said while introducing Palin at a rally in Tampa, Fla., in 2008. "All that corruption went out with the trash. Now whatever the good ol' boys are up to these days, that has no place in her state -- no place. And Gov. Palin will use that same mop to clean up Washington and Wall Street, guaranteed."

It appears that Palin needs to clean up her apparent tiff with "The View" co-host if she really does have aspirations for political office, because with friends like these, who needs Democrats?

Fat Joe ‘Scared’ Into Weight Loss, Drops 88 Pounds.

Fat Joe, the rapper who’s nickname was representative of his 6-foot-2, 350 lb frame, has recently shed 88 pounds, and apparently without the aid of any weight loss supplement or fad diet.

According to the NYDailyNews, the South Bronx native decided to get serious about weight loss after losing seven friends, all in their 30′s, to heart attacks last year.

“I always loved being fat, obviously. I’m Fat Joe. The biggest killer of people is food. It kills more people than AIDS or gun violence or war, anything you can name. Everybody keep catching strokes and heart attacks, and what happened to me was, like seven of my friends passed last year from heart attacks, and they were all 32, 34 years old, 35. What’s the difference between me and them? Health doesn’t discriminate just because I’m famous”

Reportedly Joe, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, lost the weight by combining 2 hour cardio and weight lifting sessions with proper eating habits. Instead of BK, KFC, and McD’s, Fat Joe opted for smaller portioned meals of fruit, veggies, and lean meats.

The first peek at the rapper’s new frame came on Tuesday when his new music video, “Drop a Body,” went live on Worldstarhiphop.com.  In the video, Joe looks a shadow of his former self and is hardly recognizable as he raps to the camera.

The obvious question is will this slim new artist keep his old nick name?

“They’re all trying to alter my name, but I can’t see myself as anything else,” he said, referring to friends who started calling him “Skinny Joe” and “Joey Flaco” (Spanish for “thin”). “I think I gotta ask Diddy what my new name is.”“They’re all trying to alter my name, but I can’t see myself as anything else,” he said, referring to friends who started calling him “Skinny Joe” and “Joey Flaco” (Spanish for “thin”). “I think I gotta ask Diddy what my new name is.”

Brain Scan Spots Differences in Tots With ADHD Symptoms
FRIDAY, June 10 (HealthDay News) -- Preschool children with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have a smaller-than-normal structure in the brain that plays an important role in cognitive and motor control, new research shows.
The finding may help efforts to develop ways to treat the common behavioral disorder in the early stages, according to the researchers at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.
In the study, high-resolution MRI was used to examine the brains of 13 preschoolers with ADHD symptoms (including inattentiveness and impulsivity) and 13 without ADHD symptoms. The scans showed that children with ADHD symptoms had a significantly smaller caudate nucleus, a small structure in the subcortical region of the brain.
In addition, the smaller the child's caudate nucleus, the greater the level of ADHD symptoms reported by parents, the investigators found.

"Clinically, this abnormal brain development sets the stage for the symptoms of ADHD that contribute to cognitive challenges and problems in school," lead author Mark Mahone, director of neuropsychology at Kennedy Krieger, said in an institute news release.
"Earlier identification and treatment of children presenting with attention problems in the preschool years may minimize the impact of ADHD in the long-term," he added.
The study was published in the June 9 online edition of the journal Clinical Neuropsychologist.
ADHD is the most common child behavioral diagnosis in the United States, affecting about 2 million children.-- Robert Preidt
